The Daily News (Longview, WA)
The Daily News (TDN) serves as the main newspaper for Longview, Kelso, and Cowlitz County in Washington. It is currently owned by Lee Enterprises, which took control of the publication after buying Howard Publications in 2002. Before that, Howard had acquired the newspaper in 1999 from Ted Natt and John Natt, who were the grandsons of John M. McClelland Sr. This marked the end of 76 years of ownership by the McClelland-Natt family. As noted in "R.A. Long's Planned City" by John McClelland Jr., McClelland Sr. originally bought the newspaper from Robert A. Long, a prominent lumber businessman and founder of Longview. Longview and The Daily News were both established in 1923.
