    TOLEDO, Ohio — On May 1, President Donald Trump signed an executive order ending all federal funding to public broadcasting companies PBS and NPR, accusing them of pushing left-wing propaganda with taxpayer dollars. WTOL 11 reached out to Toledo's local PBS affiliate, WGTE, which said the slash poses an enormous threat to its budget; government funding makes up 21% of the broadcaster's total budget, meaning it would have to find another way to cover the $1.2 million it would lose.

There are 306,000 registered voters in the county, but fewer than 30,000 went to the ballot box to decide on levies, bonds and candidates for the whole county.

    TOLEDO, Ohio — Following the reelection of President Donald Trump last year, United Auto Workers Local 14 president Tony Totty was a cautious supporter of then-proposed tariffs, but his opinion months later is a bit more measured. "If Mr. Trump can stand firm, it would start to make sense for companies to bring work back to the United States instead of dealing with the uncertainty of erratic tariffs," Totty wrote in a Washington Post op-ed in December, expressing optimism about tariffs.
