The Cedar County Health Department has reported a laboratory-confirmed measles case. According to the health department on social media, the case was in an unvaccinated Cedar County child. Cedar County is located northwest of Greene County. Its county seat is Stockton. The health department said exposure to the infection is believed to be limited, but routine public health follow-up continues.

There are six chairs total at six state parks in Missouri. Some of Missouri’s state parks offer a way for those with mobility challenges to be able to enjoy the trails like everybody else. And a recent donation has expanded accessibility even further. Every state parks region in Missouri now has two Action Trackchairs. They’re wheelchairs, but instead of wheels, they have a track – like tank or a bulldozer.

Low-interest federal disaster loans are available from the U.S. Small Business Administration to help Missouri small businesses, private nonprofits and residents impacted by severe weather on April 29. The loans are available through a federal disaster declaration requested by Governor Mike Kehoe and approved by the Trump administration. The declaration covers these Missouri counties: Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton Polk, Stone and Webster.

Anyone 62 and over in Greene County who wishes to apply or re-apply for the senior tax credit needs to do so by June 30. Greene County Collector Allen Icet held a press conference Monday morning to help spread the word. The Greene County Commission passed an ordinance last year allowing those 62 and over to apply to have their real estate taxes frozen going forward, he said, and many did. “In 2024, we had over 15,000 applications for the initial program,” he said.
