CINCINNATI — Withrow High School named Steve Gentry Tuesday morning as its boys basketball coach. Gentry, who stepped down from Purcell Marian after two seasons, is set to return to his alma mater for his second stint as the Withrow head coach. Gentry succeeds former Withrow coach Berdo Allen, who stepped down in late February after coaching the Tigers for five seasons. Withrow had a 3-18 overall record including 0-10 in the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference this past season.

CINCINNATI — Purcell Marian boys basketball coach Steve Gentry has stepped down from the position after two seasons. The Purcell Marian athletic department announced Monday afternoon it is seeking its next boys basketball coach. The social media post said to direct cover letters and resumes to Purcell Marian co-athletic director Jamar Mosley, who is also the school’s girls basketball coach. "I can confirm Coach Gentry has stepped down as head coach," Mosley said in a text message to WCPO 9 Sports.

NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio — North College Hill High School named Orlando Gentry Friday afternoon as its new boys basketball coach, pending board of education approval. “I’m definitely grateful for the opportunity,” Gentry said. Gentry was an Aiken assistant coach the past three years including the Falcons’ Division III state runner-up team in March. He was previously a Hughes assistant coach prior to Aiken.

MIAMIVILLE, Ohio — Moeller senior right-handed pitcher Zion Theophilus tied a single-game school record with 17 strikeouts Wednesday night in earning the Crusaders’ 32nd no-hitter in the storied program’s history. The Crusaders defeated visiting Elder 5-0 at Kremchek Stadium in a game that was delayed more than 30 minutes due to rain. Theophilus, a Louisiana State University (LSU) signee and the 2024 Gatorade Ohio Baseball Player of the Year, walked one batter.
