SPRINGFIELD, MO – Demolition crews made quick work of a longtime restaurant on the city’s east side. It was the first step in clearing the site for a brand new eatery with a name already familiar to Ozarks. As of Tuesday afternoon, all that remains of the former Lucy’s Chinese Food E. Sunshine at Lone Pine Avenue is a barren concrete slab. Soon, Chipotle Mexican Grill will begin constructing its third Springfield store on the site.

MAMMOTH SPRING, AR – Following several days of around-the-clock construction, BNSF Railway has reopened its crossing of the Spring River. The rebuild, which included the construction of a brand new bridge, is the type of project that would normally take months to complete. The bridge (with an empty coal train on top) was washed away during severe flooding early Saturday morning. Along with the track itself, debris from the bridge and mangled railcars were swept into the river.
