FARGO — As of Monday afternoon, Grant Nelson had workouts scheduled with 12 NBA teams between now and the June 25-26 draft. His agent, Max Wiepking, said there could be more added. "As we get closer, maybe more teams will bring him in. He's got a lot of interest from just about every team about getting him into their facility and getting in for a workout," said Wiepking, of the Gersh Sports agency. "A lot of teams have him kind of in that second round range right now. We'll see.

FARGO — When you can taste the air, that's bad. You could taste the air in Fargo-Moorhead on Monday afternoon. Sort of a campfire mouthfeel with a lingering pine tree finish. Smells good, though. Like a sitting by a lake making s'mores. Get your stuff together, Canada, or we'll start getting behind Trump's cockamamie idea to make you the 51st state. Quick, Donald, slap a tarriff on smoke. There's bad air quality and then there's bad air quality. Monday there was bad air quality.

What is this, 1980? Who needs home runs, launch angles, exit velocity and all the other mumbo-jumbo around which baseball is centered today? Pitching, defense and bunting work just fine. North Dakota State for the second straight game left too many runners in scoring position and missed too many clutch opportunities. But for the second straight game the Bison went old school and got outstanding pitching and defense. Old school still works. Analytics, schnanalytics.

FARGO — The Fargo Marathon isn't what it once was, but what is? In a town that's bored with national championships from its local college football team, it's unlikely a marathon could retain the juice of its glory years. On historic Eighth Street south of downtown, the evidence was clear Saturday morning. What was once Party Central for the marathon, with booze and bands, looked and sounded closer to a golf tournament than a kegger.

I’ve all but stopped coming to this platform, but I have to comment. My dealing with B-Mac was that he was such a nice guy and passionate FCS advocate. Always chose positive view of FCS and programs, quite opposite of me, but we had fun with it. Condolences to his family.

Brian McLaughlin's passing is devastating. His wife Lori: "Brian's deep love of family and unparalleled passion for sports, community journalism and genealogy set him above the rest. He was a gifted writer and communicator, & loved to connect with people and bring them together." https://t.co/uYyQB2IQFk

I am.

I bet there are zero people in the world who are actively rooting for BOTH the Eagles and Chiefs today.

Well, second-greatest. But co-sign.
