Federal relief is on its way to eight states. President Donald Trump approved a series of major disaster declarations on Friday. Some states have been waiting for months. The major disaster declaration approvals allow Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas access to financial support through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Trump administration has promised to make major changes to the agency, which Trump has said responds too slowly.

In #Barnsdall yesterday I ran into the good people from Convoy of Hope and Recovering Oklahoma After Disaster. They were replacing windows on a home damaged in the May 2024 EF4 tornado. The homeowner was grateful after living with plywood covering the windows over a year. #okwx https://t.co/8qmfT6SGTN
