Jackson scored the Thunderbirds’ final nine points, including two free throws with 2.9 seconds remaining, to lift Park Crossing, coached by Freeah Smith, to a 56-54 victory over Hazel Green in Wednesday’s Class 6A girls state semifinals at the BJCC’s Legacy Arena as the 105TH AHSAA State Basketball Championship opened Day 3.

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. — Deshler High School’s Reece Davis scored a career high 37 points Tuesday night to lead the Tigers to a 77-33 win over Hatton. The victory moved Deshler girls’ head coach Jana Killen to the top of the AHSAA leaderboard for career wins in the process. Killen’s team notched win 919 beating Florence last weekend. That tied her with the AHSAA’s boys’ all-time wins leader Coach Eugene Mason, now deceased.
