How much time do you think your child spends on their phone during school hours? New research from Seattle Children's Research Institute found the answer to be about a quarter of the school day. This year, Mount Si High School and the Snoqualmie Valley School District adopted a new phone policy to buck that trend. Students are now required to turn off their phones and stow them during class periods. When the bell rings to change classes, the halls fill with students and cell phones.

There's new hope for people in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. A new medication called donanemab appears to slow memory loss, giving patients the gift of more time. UW Medicine's Memory & Brain Wellness Center at Harborview Medical Center recently started treating patients with the drug. Bob Pringle is one of the first patients in Seattle to receive donanemab. "They already tell me it won't cure it. It won't stop it," Pringle said. While not a cure, donanemab does have promise.
