MIDLAND, Texas — The City of Midland reports a new fiscal year record in airline passengers at Midland International Air & Space Port. In an early Tuesday morning news release, the Airports Department reported that in August alone there were a total of 63,704 enplanements — through American Eagle, Delta Airlines, Southwest and United Airlines. The figures, according to city officials, brought the Fiscal Year 2024 total to 679,622.

Officer-involved shooting in Andrews results in one fatality

ANDREWS, Texas — A man is reportedly dead after a police-involved shooting in Andrews that happened Friday afternoon. According to a Saturday morning news release, Andrews County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to serve a felony arrest warrant for indecency with a child charge, at a residence in the 900 Block of Southwest Fifth Street. There, authorities made contact with 31-year-old Ricardo Infante Jr., who police say was inside the residence.
North Odessa residents reportedly without water

ODESSA, Texas — Many North Odessa residents have reported to not have access to water inside their homes and business. According to city reports, complaints began around 10 a.m. One apartment complex, Sunset Apartments, sent an email to their residents shortly before 11 a.m. stating: "Parts of North Odessa do not have water. The city is sending out a Field Supervisor to see what the issue might be. There is not an ETA on when it will be back on, because the issue is not known yet.
