    Chick-fil-A announced the official reopening May 6 of its rebuilt restaurant near the entrance of the Queen's Harbour development in Jacksonville. The chicken sandwich and tenders chain is at 13375 Atlantic Blvd. at Joandy Road north of Hodges Boulevard. After considering plans to renovate its existing building, which was built in 2000, Chick-fil-A decided to raze and rebuild it.

    Jacksonville-based U.S. Legal Services was acquired by an affiliate of CCW Safe, Heritage Capital Group announced May 5. U.S. Legal Services, at 8133 Baymeadows Way, is a nationwide provider of legal insurance benefit plans to employer groups, associations, unions and other types of organizations. CCW Safe offers legal insurance for people who carry firearms in the event they are involved in a shooting.

    The Museum of Science & History on the Downtown Southbank is closing Sept. 1 so the “organization can fully engage in shaping the vision for the new Museum.”MOSH announced the closure May 2 in a news release. MOSH plans to move across the St. Johns River to the Shipyards on the Northbank. It plans to break ground on its new museum in 2026 with completion anticipated by 2028. MOSH, founded in 1941, has been at 1025 Museum Circle Drive since 1968.

    May 1 was declared Law Day in America by act of Congress in 1961 to celebrate the rule of law and role of the courts in a free society. The Jacksonville Bar Association celebrated the day with an awards ceremony May 1 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront by recognizing some of its members, as well as someone who is not an attorney but makes a positive impact helping the legal community exceed its goals.

    Georgia-Pacific announced April 28 it plans to build a 400,000-square-foot warehouse at its paper products mill in Palatka as part of an $83 million investment. Georgia-Pacific said the warehouse will create 20 jobs and enhance product storage and shipping capabilities. The mill employs about 1,000 people and produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels. They are sold under the brand names of Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Brawny and Sparkle.
