    Peterhead Boys Club is to receive more than £26,000 in UK Government funding to build new changing facilities at the town’s Ugie Park. The money is part of a £6m scheme in partnership with the Scottish FA, and the UK Government hopes to help 40 projects across Scotland from the major package. A total of £150,000 has also been awarded to the Meadows Sports Centre in Ellon to develop a new state-of-the-art pitch with floodlights.

    A major pizza chain could set up shop in Peterhead, despite previous plans for a takeaway being scuppered. Domino’s Pizza had originally applied for planning consent for a takeaway out the outskirts of town, near to McDonalds at the Burnside Business Park. However, those plans were dropped in favour of a Burger King, leaving pizza fans dismayed. But now, fresh plans have been lodged with Aberdeenshire Council to create a takeaway at the former car salesroom on West Road.
