That all starts with residents following firework safety tips at their festivities, including avoiding the use of illegal fireworks in the city of Greeley that can result in hefty fines or even jail time. Say no to a big fireworks show at homeResidents who possess, sell or use illegal fireworks can be fined up to $1,000 and face possible jail time, according to a city of Greeley news release.

The Weld RE-4 School District will host two virtual town halls in July to discuss cellphone usage in schools. The town halls come after Colorado lawmakers passed House Bill 25-1135, titled “Communication Devices in Schools,” in May. The bill requires schools to implement a policy about the use of student communication devices during the school day, according to a Weld RE-4 news release.

A statewide shortage of veterinary professionals has inspired a local job shadow opportunity for northern Colorado teens. Vet Set Go, in support of Loveland-based Antech Diagnostics, calls for entries to shadow a clinic team on Wednesday, July 30 at West Ridge Animal Hospital in Greeley. Aspiring veterinarians between the ages of 16 and 18 have until July 11 to apply.
