KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to the National World War I Museum and Memorial right here in Kansas City is in limbo. This comes as President Trump issued an executive order to reduce the institute’s spending, and all institute staff were put on leave. The grant, worth $250,000 to help the WWI Museum and Memorial digitize records, has already been partially used, according to museum President and CEO Matthew Naylor.

RIVERSIDE, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) - A night of terror in Missouri ended Friday morning when the man suspected of killing two people, injuring another and abducting a child was killed by police. The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said 43-year-old George Manning was shot and killed by police just after 7:30 a.m.He was the suspect in two homicides that occurred Friday night, the second of which involved a child abduction that prompted an Amber Alert, authorities reported.

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Brazos County District Clerk Gabriel Garcia has been arrested by Bryan police and booked into the county jail early Saturday. It’s unclear when he was arrested, but Garcia, 56, was taken into custody sometime today by the Bryan Police Department and charged with assault causing bodily injury- family violence. His bond has been set at $5,000. Online records show Garcia was released on the same day. Details of the arrest were not immediately available.

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - Budget discussions are starting for Brazos County as commissioners work to discuss possible projects. Tuesday, leaders met for two hours to take a look at projects the county hopes to prioritize in the next budget. Presenters went over revenue, debt and grants from the past few years plus a wish list for 2025. Top priorities that will require funding include renovations and maintenance for the Brazos County Expo Center and Brazos County Administration Building.
