LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) - A manhunt for a “dangerous fugitive” is underway after a Missouri police officer was shot multiple times while responding to a domestic disturbance call. A Blue Alert is in effect across several counties in Missouri and Kansas as law enforcement officials search for 27-year-old Thomas Eugene Tolbert. He is accused of shooting and seriously injuring a Lee’s Summit police officer late Sunday night, KCTV reports.

The crashes happened at the Clay-Ray Veterans Hall on St. Louis Avenue in Excelsior Springs. Excelsior Springs is located about 30 miles northeast of Kansas City. The Excelsior Springs Police Department confirmed Wednesday morning that one person was injured after driving their car through the roof of the veterans hall.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) - It’s déjà vu all over again for an Excelsior Springs veterans group. The Excelsior Springs Police Department confirmed Wednesday morning that one person was injured after driving their car through the roof of the Clay-Ray Veterans Hall, which sits on the east side of St. Louis Avenue. Lt. Ryan Dowdy said that officers were still looking into whether the driver had a medical emergency or if impairment was a factor.
