A Huntsville man is charged with murder following a Monday night shooting. According to the Huntsville Police Department, 22-year-old Byron Alexander Peterson was arrested in connection with the death of 53-year-old Demetrius Jones. On Monday, just after 6 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in progress at 240 Martin Road. When they arrived, they found Jones in the doorway of his apartment with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
