A resident living on Ryan Drive, the street where Steve Perkins lived when a Decatur Police officer killed him in Sept. 2023, started a petition to get the roadway renamed. In order to rename the street, 75% of residents living on it have to sign off on the name change.

It hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Summit Veterinary Urgent Care on Thursday, April 17th. Officials say Summit Veterinary Urgent Care provides walk-in urgent care for animals. Their mission is to deliver quality and progressive care. The facility also includes overnight and weekend hospitalization if needed.
