It’s easy to recognize some names on college men’s hockey jerseys – many sons of NHL players have continued their family tradition of playing hockey at the highest collegiate levels. But here in Boston, the NHL pedigree also shows up in the women’s game. Windham, New Hampshire native Julia Pellerin was one of the top scoring freshman for the Boston College Eagles this year. If you recognize the last name, it’s because she’s the daughter of retired NHL player Scott Pellerin.

He finished the race in 3:30:52 and seemed excited to be running another major marathon next week. "It was lots of fun," he said. "Always a different condition from last year, but it was amazing. The fans were just so loud and cheering us on. It was an amazing day. I enjoyed it very much.

Several past women's champions of the Boston Marathon will return to race the course from Hopkinton to Copley Square on Monday for a chance to win another olive wreath crown. They'll face stiff competition in a historically fast women's field. Nineteen of the competitors have personal bests of under 2:23, including the three who have completed marathons in under 2:18."Boston is the oldest marathon. So even if I don't win, I will make my own story," said Hellen Obiri, last year's champion.
