On Sunday, people risked their lives in attempts to make their early morning flights out of Miami International Airport. TikTok videos show dozens of people climbing over a freight train, luggage in hand, and walking two miles on the highway to the airport after the train was stuck around 5 a.m. just outside the airport on LeJeune Road. The videos captured cars backed up in traffic as the train blocked the entrance to the airport.

Your Instagram feed may be full of pictures of sunrises and sunsets over the next week or so. Saharan dust is on its annual voyage to the Sunshine State. The dust, made up of mineral and sand particles, comes from the Sahara Desert in North Africa, where strong winds carry it across the Atlantic Ocean. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) says the dry, dusty air — the Saharan Air Layer (SAL) — forms over the desert in the late spring, summer, and early fall.

One of the oldest manatees that regularly visits Blue Spring State Park in central Florida died last month. The nonprofit group Save the Manatee Club announced that a watercraft killed Paddy Doyle, one of the club's oldest adoptees, in the St. Johns River near Jacksonville at the end of April. The manatee was in great physical condition at the time of his death, despite propeller scars on his back and tail.

A unique piece of Miami real estate is now available for $20.9 million, although some may view it as the site of their next teardown. David Wallack, CEO of Mango's Tropical Café in Miami Beach and Orlando, is selling his "Whispering Pines" estate at 5725 Bayshore Dr., a 5,402-square-foot waterfront property in the Morningside neighborhood. It is one of only 13 bayfront lots in the neighborhood and the only one currently for sale.

Goldflower Cannabis, known for its "comparable to organic" products, is expanding into South Florida with its first Miami dispensary. Goldflower will open its new dispensary at 7401 Bird Road on June 14, joining its six other retail locations in Florida. The Gulf Coast-based company currently only offers daily delivery service in South Florida.
