SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Sunday, Utah! We continue the holiday weekend with a few showers and isolated storms popping up, mainly over the mountains. Thanks to a weak trough sliding into the region, we’ll see better coverage than on Saturday, especially over the mountain areas in northeast Utah. Southern and eastern Utah will stay drier at the surface, but gusty outflow winds remain likely. Some of those gusts could top 50 mph in the east, so keep an eye on loose patio furniture.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Wednesday, Utah! Today will be another gorgeous day in the weather world with dry skies and warm temperatures. Northern Utah can expect to see similar temperatures to Tuesday, if not a few degrees warmer, which places northern valleys in the upper 60s to low 70s, and low to mid-60s for higher terrain. Southern Utah will run about 5-10 degrees warmer with highs climbing into the upper 70s to mid-80s while St. George breaks into the low 90s.

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) — A massive sewing project is underway at the Sandy Expo Center, where Colonial Flag is working to repair ‘The Major.’ The flag suffered major wind damage last fall. It once flew proudly over North Ogden’s Coldwater Canyon, and it carries the name and legacy of a man who meant so much to the community: Major Brent Taylor. The flag spans 78 by 150 feet and would cover nearly half of a football field. Taylor was serving in Afghanistan in 2018 when he was killed in action.
