Photos by Natalie Grammer At the back of Southgate Roller Rink near the skate rental area, a group of scantily clad people removed a fiberglass tile from the ceiling. The stripper pole needed to fit somehow. Chantilly Tempo, the host of the first-of-its-kind Roll & Poll event, glided around to check on the progress, the light-up wheels of her skates reflecting off her white knee-high socks. She wore a brown and white gingham bra and skort and a pearl-studded ribbon swished from her ponytail.

More Misery for Microsoftees: It's hell over there in Redmond. Microsoft is planning to lay off "thousands" of employees next month as it pares back its numbers and funnels spending into artificial intelligence. Most of the cuts will hit the sales department. Israel Strikes Iran: On Friday, Israel launched military strikes on Iran. It targeted the country's nuclear sites and killed at least two of Iran's top military officials. The nuclear sites were those at the middle of Trump's nuclear negotiations with Iran. Apparently, Trump told Netanyahu not to target the sites since diplomatic proceedings were underway. Oopsie, Netanyahu did so anyway. However, two Israeli officials told Axios that Trump only pretended to resist the strikes in public.

Photos by West Smith I wrapped my arms around two giant men—the loosehead and tight head (positions, not names)—and twisted my hands into their jerseys. They gripped the waistband of my shorts, locking us together. Thank god I had worn spandex underneath, I thought, as my shorts hitched into a giant wedgie. Sweat dampened their backs. We leaned down, our weight one, our bodies together. The egg-shaped ball lay at my feet. In a scramble of limbs, I hooked it—inelegantly—out the back of the scrum.

For @SeattleMet and @investigatewest I spent months reporting on the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire. Many ex-faire workers allege corruption, labor violations, and abuse. This piece dives into all of it: https://t.co/Y1gnwbDhgF

There is something so uncanny about the not-quite-right way The Last of Us portrays Seattle, its main setting for season 2. I'm obsessed with it and, if you're a Seattleite, I bet you are, too: https://t.co/hLENvdGD1m
