Retired architect Nicolas Greenstone has drawn a blank from the authorities about the historic marker, which he spotted lying on its side in England's Lane, Belsize Park. The purpose and origins of the stone are not clear.

The materials, including corrugated roofing, were spotted in Sainsbury's car park, in Finchley Road, on April 29. They were still there on Tuesday (May 6). Meagan Edwards, who lives with her partner Karl McKillop, reported the fly-tip to Sainsbury's on April 30 and to Barnet Council on May 2, but says she has received no response.
