    The ingeneous device has won money from the industry regulator Ofwat as an incentive to clean up the filtration process without having to use chemicals. The £1.9 million 'Sandscape' project is being run by Thames Water with Affinity Water which, between them, supply Greater London and big chunks of the Home Counties. Robotic underwater technologies speed up ‘slow sand’ filtration used in the treatment process. The filtration is a natural process that doesn’t use chemicals to purify supplies.

    The scheme is part of Camden Council’s programme for improving parks and “greening up” neighbourhoods like Eton Avenue. “It’s important we make parks as green and biodiverse as possible,” Camden Council cabinet member Adam Harrison said. “We listened to people’s ideas with planted terraces, mounds of meadow grass and ‘rain gardens’ to help retain water and improve biodiversity.” The scheme also has a toddler play area with new play equipment and plants.

    Coleridge Primary School in Crouch End Hill encourages pupils to learn “with confidence and curiosity” and even has a ‘rainbow’ room with specialist guidance to help pupils manage their emotions. The school, which provides education to 866 pupils aged between three and 11, was rated "outstanding" in all areas after an Ofsted inspection on March 25 and 26. Inspectors found that there is a "drive for every pupil to succeed both academically and emotionally".

    Police were called to Crestfield Street last Thursday (May 29) at 7.09pm to reports of a man with a suspected weapon. Jake France, 34, was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody. He has since been charged with possession of an imitation firearm in a public place. France appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (May 31) and is due to next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on June 30.
