VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota football program hosted its spring game alternative Coyote Family Fun Day on Saturday in the DakotaDome, drawing hundreds of families out to the event. The day had three different elements. For one hour, the team went through skills competitions, including non-special teams players kicking field goals, agility drills and even offense vs. defensive lineman one-on-one pass drills, all in the spirit of entertaining those in attendance.

VERMILLION, S.D. — Former University of South Dakota football offensive coordinator Josh Davis revolutionized the program’s offense over the past two seasons. He took a unit that was one of the worst in FCS in 2022, and by 2024, USD was one of the top offenses in the country. However, Davis departed following last season to take the offensive coordinator position at FBS program Fresno State, leaving the Coyotes to find a replacement.

LAKE ANDES, S.D. – It was a dominant showing from the Burke girls track and field team at the South Central Conference meet in Lake Andes on Tuesday. The Cougars claimed 12 out of 18 total events on the girls varsity side at the meet. No team scores were kept. Three Cougars won multiple individual events. Emily Diekmann took home the 200-meter run (28.43) and high jump (5 feet, 2 inches) titles. Daytona Paris won the 100-meter hurdles (18.14) and the triple jump (32 feet, 8 inches).

PARKSTON, S.D. — The Ethan/Parkston track and field team dominated in its home Early Bird track and field meet on Tuesday afternoon. On the boys side, Ethan/Parkston’s 133 points was good enough to claim the team title with Hanson finishing second with 101 points. The girls side was led with Ethan/Parkston scoring 181 points with second-place Sanborn Central/Woonsocket scoring 84. Mark Deckert was Ethan/Parkston’s top boys performer of the day, taking home three first-place finishes.
