A Pauanui bach known affectionately to locals as the “Witch Hat” has hit the market for sale for $799,000. Harcourts Pauanui owner Alyce Rowe said 68A Vista Paku and its twin next door were iconic properties, and had even featured on a postcard of Pauanui in the 1980s. She said they were one of the first properties to be built in the beach town.

An Auckland mansion with an $11 million CV sold privately last month for $9m, OneRoof can reveal. Records show ownership of the five-bedroom waterfront home on Riddell Road, in Glendowie, transferred from Yongming Wu to a private company based in Singapore. The ownership of Aquamarine Lily is unclear. Public records list the company’s address as an eight-storey commercial tower on Keppel Road, in Singapore, but do not reveal the identity of the directors.

A $20 million-pluslakefront estate where Richie and Gemma McCaw tied the knot has sold, smashing therecord for Wanaka’s highest house sale. Listing agent Phil Gilchrist, of Prime Real Estate, confirmed the sale of Barn Pinch, in Queenstown-Lakes, but said the buyer’s identity would stay secret for now. He declined to reveal what the 34-hectare estate on Wanaka-Mount Aspiring Road sold for but said it was a record amount for Wanaka.

A sprawling Christchurch estate is for sale with an asking price of $4.5 million – hundreds of thousands of dollars less than what the late owners paid over a decade ago. Harcourts salesperson Cameron Bailey told OneRoof the 4036sqm property on Dyers Road, in Cashmere, represented good buying, noting that similar-sized homes near the city centre would be worth at least double that. The late owners purchased the grand four-bedroom home in 2013 for $4.8m.
