A brave sister and brother are to parachute from 10,000ft to raise money for Raigmore Hospital’s intensive care unit. (ICU)Katie and John Stewart-Stevenson, from Fort William, will also be making the skydive on April 26 in memory of their brother Liam (25) who was placed on life support after a suicide attempt on January 1, 2023. He was airlifted to Raigmore ICU where he sadly died despite a five-day battle trying to save him.

Kinmylies Primary School in Inverness has received a satisfactory report following an inspection. Education Scotland inspectors are confident that the school has the capacity to continue to improve and will make no more visits in connection with the recent inspection. The school has a roll of 307 with 54 in nursery class. The headteacher has been in post for five and a half years and is supported by a depute headteacher and a principal teacher.

A new era in dementia care for NHS Highland has been ushered in with the reopening of award at New Craigs Hospital in Inverness after ground-breaking renovation. NHS Highland, in partnership with the Highland Health Board Charity have announced the reopening of their Dementia Care Unit, also known as Ruthven Ward, . NHS Highland said this much-anticipated development is a significant milestone in delivering modern, compassionate and effective dementia care in the Highlands.

Belladrum’s roots in the community run deep, as the festival donates spaces, visibility, and tickets to help raise almost £200,000 of important funds. A heartfelt connection to local causes was exemplified this year through the festival’s official partnership with the Elsie Normington Foundation, which works to improve the lives of children with complex needs. The foundation, featured across the festival site, gained valuable support and exposure – and raised £6217.54.

The A9 was closed in both directions at near Ballinluig this morning following a serious collision involving four vehicles. One of the vehicles was a lorry according to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 10.45am when two of their units were still one scene. Traffic Scotland posted: “The A9 is closed in both directions between Balinluig and Dunkeld due to a road traffic incident.
