FIRST. THIS IS FIRST ALERT WEATHER. WE’RE GOING TO SQUEEZE OUT A COUPLE MORE LITTLE POP UP STORMS. YEAH, JUST A LITTLE TINY ONES RIGHT NOW. SO NOT EVERYONE’S GOING TO SEE THE RAIN AS WE FINISH OFF YOUR TUESDAY. BUT LET’S GO AND TAKE A LOOK AT THAT FORECAST. SCATTERED STORMS THIS EVENING AND WEATHER HEADLINES. TALK ABOUT MORE HEAT. UNFORTUNATELY FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK. BUT I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS. THIS LAST POINT ON THE HEADLINE SHOWS NOT AS HOT CONDITIONS OR EVEN HUMIDITY AS WE ENTER INTO NEXT WEEK.

THIS IS FIRST ALERT WEATHER. WELL THE HEAT IS ALSO AN ISSUE. WE HAVE ANOTHER IMPACT DAY TODAY BECAUSE OF IT. YEAH THAT’S RIGHT. IMPACT DAY TODAY THANKS TO THE HEAT WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THAT. IT FEELS LIKE NEVER ENDING THE LAST FEW DAYS. BUT WE’RE GOING TO ACTUALLY KIND OF START TO CHANGE TOPICS THE NEXT FEW DAYS HERE AS OUR FOCUS TURNS MORE TO SOME RAIN ACTIVITY ON THE WAY. SO THAT’S WHAT I WANT TO LOOK AT HERE AS WE PLAN AHEAD. TOMORROW IS AN IMPACT DAY.

FIRST, THIS IS FIRST ALERT WEATHER. WELL, THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER. LOTS OF THINGS TO DO OUTSIDE. YOU JUST HAVE TO PREPARE FOR IT NOW WITH THE HEAT. THAT’S WHY LAURA HAS THE STRIPS ON THE DESK. AND YOU’RE GOING TO NEED A FAN. EACH OTHER. YEP, AC WOULD BE GOOD. MAKE SURE THE CEILING FAN BLADES ARE TURNING THE RIGHT WAY, WHICH IS COUNTERCLOCKWISE, TO BRING DOWN SOME COOLER AIR. MAKE SURE YOU’RE HYDRATED. YOU KNOW THE DRILL, BUT MAN, THIS IS JUST THE FIRST OF SEVERAL DAYS TO COME WHERE IT’S GOING TO BE.

Stronger storm activity has shifted south, leaving the Kansas City metro with only light rain chances overnight and setting the stage for increasing heat in the coming days. The core of the storm system is tracking into southern Kansas, Oklahoma, and northern Arkansas. With this southern shift, severe weather and flooding are no longer expected in the metro area. Scattered showers remain possible overnight, mainly south of the metro.

101MPH. AND GET YOUR ATTENTION. YEAH, WELL. NO KIDDING. AND AGAIN, THE MAIN STUFF, THE MAIN CENTER OF THIS SYSTEM IS FAR TO THE SOUTH OF US. SO STAYING FAR TO THE SOUTH KRISTA SOUTHERN PARTS OF KANSAS, MOVING DOWN TO OKLAHOMA. SO AS FAR AS OUR IMMEDIATE AREA MOVING FORWARD, WE JUST EXPECT TO SEE A LITTLE MORE RAIN, POSSIBLY A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER FOR TONIGHT. BUT JUST LIKE CHRIS SAID, THOSE STRONGER STORMS ARE GOING TO STAY TO THE SOUTH.

You'll notice more haze in the sky as smoke from Canadian wildfires drifts into the region. Our air quality is staying the moderate category, which could cause some respiratory issues for sensitive groups. @KMBC #Mowx #Kswx #Kcwx https://t.co/swA3WyTcob

An update to Tuesday's tornadoes from @NWSKansasCity now has rated the twister that hit near the stadiums a EF-0 (80 mph wind). That tornado was originally rated an EF-U (unknown) due to lack of damage. @KMBC #Mowx #Kswx #Kcwx https://t.co/JWTZXx85GU

It's been an active year for severe weather in our part of the country. Missouri ranks #2 for tornado reports and Kansas is also in the top-10 in 2025. We had two confirmed tornadoes on Tuesday, including an EF-U (unknown due to lack of damage). @KMBC #Mowx #Kswx #Kcwx https://t.co/xKp4UuRSNH
