RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Small businesses impacted by the January water crisis who wish to apply for emergency loans can get hands-on help with their applications at upcoming work sessions. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) have been made available for small businesses, as well as private and non-profit organizations, that need financial assistance as a direct result of the Richmond water crisis that took place earlier this year.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC)– The Henrico County Police Division has reported its first rabies case of 2025. On Sunday, March 23, officers received a report of a potential rabies exposure involving two dogs and a raccoon. According to police, the raccoon was submitted to the State Lab and tested positive for rabies. Due to the potential contact between the dogs and the raccoon, the dogs involved will be quarantined on the owner’s property.

Over three generations strong, Waller & Company Jewelers remains the oldest Black-owned business in Richmond. The repair shop originated with founder Marcellus Carrington Waller, who is described by his great-grandson David Waller as a mechanical genius. “He [was] really able to fix about anything, but just always had a passion for clocks and watches,” David Waller said.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The City of Richmond has released the preliminary after-action report into the widespread water crisis that sent shockwaves through the region in January. It details several revelations on how the crisis took place — including that the plant may not have lost power if a component had been properly connected. From Monday, Jan. 6 to Saturday, Jan. 11, water service in Richmond, as well as the counties of Henrico, Hanover and Goochland, was significantly impacted.
