CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — In February, a toddler wandered away from a Chesterfield County daycare facility and onto a busy road. Following that incident, and amid a variety of other often-repeated violations, the state revoked its religious exemption to operate — yet officials found nearly 30 children there just three days later. On Friday, Feb. 21, a 3-year-old was found in the street in the 4300 block of West Hundred Road after wandering away from Fortress of God Childcare.

Like a lot of other people, I've been working on establishing myself on a certain butterfly-themed app. My handle over there is my first and last name, for those also migrating. 🦋

This is in reference to photos of Liam Payne, dead, being run by a certain organization. Journalists, don't let go of your humanity in the search for traction/notoriety. The stories you're telling are about real people. How would you feel in Payne's family's shoes?

we need to have so many conversations about journalism ethics for younger generations but starting with why not to run photos of someone who died

From a thread about local news in the wake of Helene. Local news is only as strong as the support it receives. The reason huge news organizations can create the content they do is b/c they have incredible amounts of funding. Passion can do a lot -- but it can only go so far.

Everyone is tweeting ‘there’s an emergency, read local news, read local news.’ Y’all, you have to FINANCIALLY SUPPORT local news. You have to donate. You have to subscribe. You have to do it even when you think the reporting is mediocre and they publish op-eds you don’t like.
