Big question here is why WADA did not mention these previously expressed concerns about trimetazidine use in China after the 23 swimmers case became publicised. Instead they seemed to completely accept Chinese report conclusion that the substance was not a problem in China.

Swiatek may have been asked to keep quiet about her one month ban but this all makes a mockery of the "transparency" we hear so often from sports leaders. And it naturally makes you wonder what other effectively silent bans in sport have never been published.
