While it is a little early to say with complete confidence we're done with snow for the season in Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin, the forecast is slowly making it look more and more likely we've finally turned the corner. As things stand right now, the winter of 2024-2025 was certainly a snowier winter than last year's, but it was still significantly below average in most places the National Weather Service has data for in Northern Wisconsin and Northern Minnesota.

Seeing the aurora ( northern lights) can be a breathtaking experience. Watching the sky dance with nighttime light is a treat not everyone gets the chance to enjoy, but Minnesota does get a pretty sizable amount of opportunities to see them. As the sun in its multi-year cycle (known as the solar maximum), the number of chances to see the northern lights is expected to be pretty solid throughout 2025 yet as the sun starts its gradual shift toward a less-active period.

St. Paul, MN ( KROC-AM News) - A Minnesota man has been ordered to federal prison for conviction connected to an international scheme to produce child pornography. The US Attorney's Office for Minnesota says 42-year-old Jason Miller Speed was accused of engaging a woman in the Philippines in an online relationship that eventually led to him paying her to produce child sexual abuse materials involving children under the age of 12.

The annual Minnesota Brewers Cup competition and awards ceremony was held at the end of last week, celebrating the incredible beer scene we have in Minnesota and naming the best beers in the state in a number of different categories. Almost 450 beers from nearly 100 different breweries and brewpubs across Minnesota were part of this year's event. The competition is a blind taste-test that "showcases the innovation and mastery of craft brewing in our state".
