One involved Kirkland’s representation of Gainsight, a client management platform owned by Vista Equity Partners, in its acquisition of Skilljar. Another involved a $5 billion investment in Rogers Communications by a group of funds led by Blackstone.

Last week looked much like the week that preceded it. The week ending April 26 saw a dozen deals for $8.8 billion. The preceding week saw 11 deals for $8.1 billion. This time last year we were reporting 19 transactions for $16 billion.

EQT Corporation, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based natural gas-focused company, announced late Tuesday that it had entered an agreement with Olympus Energy Holdings, Hyperion Midstream and Bow & Arrow Land Company to acquire Olympus Energy’s upstream and midstream assets for $1.8 billion. Specifically, EQT will acquire a 90,000 net acre position in Southwest Pennsylvania, which produces 500 MMcf/d and is located next to EQT’s core acreage in the region.
