A groundbreaking was held on Tuesday for the $27 million expansion that will transform the district’s middle/high school building into two stories, replacing the current 70-year-old single-story structure.     KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Hundreds of people took to the streets of Kalamazoo Wednesday night to take a stand against gun violence. The march started at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood and marched toward Park Street. The group stopped in front of the house where Marktavion Perry-Bennett was shot and killed last week. A prayer vigil was held as the group gathered around family on the spot where Perry-Bennett was killed.
