ALBAN, Wis. -- (WAOW) The Portage County Sheriff's Office says that a 68 year-old woman has died as a result of a two-vehicle accident in the Town of Alban in Portage County. According to their release, a sedan traveling southbound on CTH I failed to yield from the stop sign before crossing STH 66 towards Saint Adalberts Road. The sedan pulled directly into the path of a west bound SUV. The 68 year-old woman was the driver of the sedan, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kaul met with a group of Wausau West students to hear what concerns they had about the safety of their school, and to hear what features they would like to see added to make them feel safer.

MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. -- (WAOW) Back in September, the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board awarded the Marathon County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry with the Employer Award of Excellence. Parks and recreations officials say they were awarded because of the amount of seasonal workers they were able to hire, and how they developed them.

WISCONSIN -- (WAOW) Bible Truth Chapel in Wausau is one of many churches across the nation taking toy donations for Samaritan's Purse, and the toys will go directly to kids in third world countries. As a part of Operation Christmas Child, Samaritan's Purse is collecting donations, and Bible Truth is serving as a drop-off location for shoe boxes full of toys.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- (WAOW) While most people hear the word cannabis and think of marijuana, which is illegal in Wisconsin, professors at UWSP say the plant can be used for much more than creating a recreational drug, including being able to clean up PFAS in the soil. Biology Professor Brian Barringer is spearheading a new program that aims to teach students about cannabis science, and put to rest any misconceptions about the plant.

HULL, Wis. -- (WAOW) The Town of Hull has been given $251,623 in a federal grant, in order to replace their nearly 60 year-old brush truck, with a newer model. Fire officials say the old truck, which is as old as the department itself, was no longer meeting their needs, so they applied for a federal firefighting grant, and after being denied last year, their application was approved by FEMA this time around.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- (WAOW) The City of Stevens Point has been working to bring down the number of homeless individuals for several years, and though leaders say it's not an overnight fix, they just passed a resolution to show they're not giving up. The city's Public Protection and General Government Committee met and passed a resolution that, while not outlining any specific policies, aims to show that the city wants to show their commitment to fighting homelessness.
