MILLIKEN, Colo. (KDVR) — Hail pummeled the town of Milliken in an early morning storm Tuesday. FOX31 spent the day with residents and roofers assessing the damage. “It was at 3:30 in the morning,” resident Jim Waddell said. “It sounded like horses running across the roof of the house. It was crazy loud. And so it came out and I looked out the window and saw golf balls basically falling out of the sky.”Once daylight rolled around, Jim Waddell came outside and saw the damage.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — A Lakewood child caretaker is now sentenced to 18 years in prison for child abuse. FOX31 sat down exclusively with the father of the toddler she’s convicted of seriously injuring. A seven-day trial reviewed disturbing details from when Giovanni was in his babysitter McKinley Slone Hernandez’s care in September of 2023. Prosecutors said the two-year-old fell or was pushed out of a trailer that was shown on surveillance video from the day of the incident during the trial.

Today, FOX31 is digging deeper into the legal concept, speaking with an expert who ran a program in Denver that allows the city to impound cars in these types of crimes. “A criminal action is intended to punish the driver of the vehicle, the person committing the crime,” Kory Nelson said.
