The results came out on Tuesday. Texas students showed some score increases in the reading section. However, according to the TEA, in mathematics, performance varied by grade level, with no notable gains observed.

    TEXAS — Gov. Greg Abbott officially signed Senate Bill 4 on Monday, which will lead to lowered property taxes for Texans. All homeowners will soon benefit from an increase of the homestead exemption. It removes part of the value of a homeowner’s property from being taxed. Under Senate Bill 4, the exemption now sits at $140,000. However, for any homeowner who is considered disabled or over the age of 65, that boost is now up to $200,000.
