SCRANTON, Pa. — The county fair season has officially started in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The 2025 Lackawanna County Heritage Fair kicks off Thursday at 4pm. Admission is $15 per person and free for children under 32 inches. Your ticket includes unlimited rides, live entertainment and all-day access to Montage Mountain Waterpark. There are more than two dozen food vendors, more than 40 craft vendors, and nonprofits on hand, as well as fireworks on Friday night. Parking is free.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Downtown Wilkes-Barre will be filled with the smooth sounds of jazz this weekend as the Cavalcade of Jazz takes over. The three-day festival kicks off at 5 p.m. this Friday at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts. The event features more than a dozen jazz acts, many of them free. Two headline performances are scheduled: Cindy Bradley on Friday and Endea Owens & The Cookout on Saturday.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — It’s a big week for baseball in Billtown; the Williamsport Crosscutters are back! Opening day is Friday at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field. Employees have been preparing behind the scenes for months, and fans are treated to nightly promotions. On opening night, the first 1,000 fans will receive a replica of the Crosscutters' 2024 Championship Ring. One lucky fan will win a genuine ring. On Saturday, there will be post-game fireworks.

SCOTT, Pa. — Strawberry season is upon us, and Lakeland Orchard is celebrating with its annual Strawberry Festival. The event starts this Thursday and features all things strawberry. There will be a variety of strawberry-related foods, including shortcake, slushies, donuts, and ice cream. The highlight of the event is the pick-your-own strawberry fields. The strawberry festival at Lakeland Orchard runs Thursdays through June 29th.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — More than two dozen beds line the floor of Ruth's Place in Wilkes Barre and they are all occupied. Ruth's Place is one of our area's only 24 hour emergency shelters. "We're here to serve women who are experiencing homelessness for any and all reasons. The women who use Ruth's Place come from all walks of life. We work with over 200 women a year," Volunteers of America Senior Director Crystal Kotlowski said.
