Chicago has more lead service lines than any other city in the United States. That concerning stat has inspired researchers at Northwestern University to help with a solution. They came up with an at-home test — allowing people to check for lead in their own water. Grad student Tyler Lucci has lost count of days spent in a lab. "It's my life — 8 to 5, 8 to 6," Lucci said.

An old and deconsecrated church building in Chicago's Jefferson Park neighborhood is undergoing a transformation. At the former St. Cornelius Church, at 5430 W. Foster Ave., rows of pews will soon be replaced with pickleball courts. The St. Cornelius Parish was established in 1925. The parish grew over the next few decades, and the current church building — which accommodated 750 worshipers — was built in 1964 and dedicated in 1965. By the 1980s, there were 2,500 member families in the parish.

Just after these Chicago kids took part in a mock conclave, cardinals in Rome elected a pope from Chicago. The kids won’t ever forget this experience, and I won’t ever forget this story.

A Catholic school in Chicago hosted a papal conclave of their own as students voted amongst themselves for a pope, white smoke and all. https://t.co/KJvhV4BKfO

This morning, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy in Lakeview transformed into the Sistine Chapel. Students dressed as cardinals and voted to elect a pope in a mock conclave. https://t.co/JuHyh6Kjo6

Bertha the mastiff made it more than 2,000 miles to her forever home in Oregon. I caught up with her new owner and the guys who jumped at the chance to take a 170 lb. dog on a cross-country road trip. https://t.co/4w8QR3qT9n
