CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The #12 Kirkwood softball team earned their 5th and 6th consecutive wins on Wednesday afternoon, beating Ellsworth 9-1 and 14-7. Kiya Johnson had a combined 9 RBI between the 2 games, including a walk-off home run in game one. She's now 3rd in NJCAA DII with 74 RBI this season.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Former University of Iowa Athletic Director Gary Barta has been named one of the inductees for the 2025 Hall of Fame at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Barta was Iowa's AD for 17 years, and oversaw the hires of Fran McCaffery, Joey Woody, and Rick Heller. He was also a member of the College Football Playoff committee for 3 years.

AMES, Iowa — After spending her first two seasons at Iowa State, sophomore Kelsey Joens has announced that she will enter the transfer portal. Jones played her high school basketball at City High and West Liberty, and was the Gatorade Player of the Year for Iowa in 2023. Joens averaged over 5 points per game in each of her first two seasons with the Cyclones. She had been the third Joens sister to play at ISU. Her sister Ashley is the program's all-time leading scorer.
