Last month, Cabrini swimmers competed in the Spartan Splash Invitational, a three-day swimming tournament between five colleges: Cabrini, York College of Pennsylvania, Albright College, Hood College and Bridgewater College. The number of swimmers from the opposing schools overwhelmed the Cavaliers’ numbers, but that didn’t stop Cabrini’s Michael Gray from standing out. Gray smashed two personal best times and set the conference-best mark in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Lea Blackburn joined Cabrini’s athletic training staff in August 2022. Just over a year after arriving, she’s now the last trainer standing to lead Cabrini athletes through their final seasons. Working closely with the field hockey and softball teams, she was one of four full-time trainers operating out of the Dixon Center’s athletic training room. Blackburn came to Cabrini from West Chester University, where she spent two years working with their men’s athletic teams.

Graduate student Jake Scully capped off his collegiate career by winning Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Year. Scully, a senior who plays center back for the men’s soccer team helped lead the Cavaliers to second place in the Atlantic East Conference. Scully was a defensive presence, usually playing all 90 minutes of the game. However, he also helped his team offensively with one goal and one assist this season.
