Hundreds of nurses represented by the California Nurses Association went on a one-day strike Thursday in Long Beach. The nurses’ strike impacted three LA-area hospitals, including at the Long Beach Medical Center. There were also picketlines outside of the city of Long Beach. The registered nurses are seeking a contract that provides workplace violence protections, recruitment and retention of skilled nurses and improvements to working conditions and patient safety.
