GRAND RAPIDS, MI – West Ottawa’s 3,200-meter relay team captured a girls Division 1 state championship last season, and with all four runners back on the roster this season, the group entered the 2025 season as the favorite to return to the top of the podium. Junior Jayden Kulhanek and sophomore Caden Livermore each broke long-standing school records this season, with the former surpassing a 29-year-old mark in the long jump, and the latter eclipsing a 53-year-old record in the 800-meter run and a 37-year-old record in the 1,600 run.

CEDAR SPRINGS, MI – During the offseason, Cedar Springs softball coach Allison DeBoer received a surprise text message from star player Kendall Fisk. The junior pitcher and future Division-I player at Purdue Fort Wayne asked to be a late addition to an open gym, after her private softball lesson canceled unexpectedly. It prompted an immediate “Yes” from DeBoer and also showed the veteran coach just how dedicated Fisk is to improving as an athlete.
