PHOENIX (AZFamily) — High temperatures around the Valley were once again above 100 on Friday, but get ready for the heat to increase this weekend and into next week. Friday afternoon, we expect to see high temperatures near normal at 103 degrees. The disturbance that brought a few thunderstorms up north is starting to weaken, but we’re still seeing a few isolated thunderstorms in the High Country.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — This afternoon, we are expecting plenty of sunshine and a high temperature of 100 degrees, just one degree shy of our record. However, some instability in Northern Arizona is bringing showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening. Drier air moves into our state as a ridge of high pressure strengthens in our region. This ridge of high pressure will continue to heat things and create stagnant air over the valley.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The low that cooled us down over the weekend has now moved east of us, and a strong ridge of high pressure is replacing it. This high-pressure system will continue to strengthen and cause our air quality to diminish. We have a High Pollution Advisory for today, where they are urging folks with respiratory issues to limit their outdoor exposure. This ridge of high pressure will provide us with plenty of sunshine and above-average temperatures.

PHOENIX (AZFamily)—The low-pressure system that brought strong winds and cooler temperatures to our area is moving east. As it moves out of our area, the wind forecast calls for lighter winds and warmer temperatures. We started our morning with temperatures in the upper 60s to the lower 70s. This afternoon, expect to see a high of 99 degrees. Our average high this time of year is 96 degrees. A ridge of high pressure will dominate our forecast for the next few days.

PHOENIX (AZFamily)—The low-pressure system that brought strong winds and cooler temperatures to the state is shifting to the north and east. Temperatures were in the 80s yesterday in Phoenix, and today we reached the upper 80s. The winds have stayed fairly elevated in eastern Arizona, with gusts today near 25-30 mph. Luckily, they are not as windy as the last two days. Today, more than 400 people are fighting the Greer Fire, which has spread to more than 9,500 acres.
