It happened near 87th and Pershing avenues, south of the Loop 101 (Agua Fria) freeway and Thunderbird Road, around 6:45 p.m.According to Peoria Police Sgt. Araceli “Shelly” Montes, the man tried to kidnap a woman who had a baby in a stroller. He then tried to take the baby from the woman.

    PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — Police say a man has been hospitalized after an officer-involved shooting in Peoria Thursday evening. No officers were hurt. Authorities confirmed the shooting happened near 87th and Pershing avenues, south of the Loop 101 (Agua Fria) and Thunderbird Road, around 7 p.m.One man was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. Police also confirmed that the officer involved was not injured and said that there is “no active threat” to the community.
