    Fargo firefighters at Red River Commodities (April 23, 2025) FARGO (KFGO) – The Fargo Fire Department now says there was a dust explosion and not a natural gas explosion at a north Fargo food processing plant late last month. It happened at a Red River Commodities building in the 300 block of 40th Street North. The investigation found that the April 23 dust explosion was in a storage bin. One person was treated for non life-threatening injuries at a Fargo hospital.

    FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO KBRF) – A woman has been charged with driving while high on drugs with her adolescent son in the car. The State Patrol says 30-year-old Megan Kelly Thorsen of Grand Forks was heading east on I-94 near Fergus Falls Saturday afternoon when her car was seen repeatedly crossing over the center and fog lines. A trooper pulled the vehicle over. Thorsen’s son was in the passenger seat.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. – The State Department of Health says Minnesota’s suicide rate remained unchanged in 2024 compared to the year before. Preliminary data shows the state’s suicide rate last year in entirely rural counties was twice that of the Twin Cities metro counties. rural counties make up about 1.6% of the Minnesota population and 2.8% of all suicide deaths.

    BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. – Police and fire officials are investigating a deadly house fire Tuesday evening in Brooklyn Park. Firefighters responding to a report of smoke coming from a home found what they called a working structure fire. Crews located a man inside and pulled him from the home. Paramedics treated the victim, but he died at the scene. No word yet on what might have caused the fire.
