    WARD COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – An 80-year-old Douglas, North Dakota, man died Thursday in a two-vehicle crash in Ward County. The State Patrol says the victim was driving a UTV, traveling on a road a mile west of Douglas. A cement truck driven by a 68-year-old Minot man was also traveling west on the road. As the cement truck began passing side-by-side, the UTV made a left turn in front of the truck, was struck by the truck, and came to rest in the ditch.

    SISSETON, S.D.–(KWAT/KFGO) – The Roberts County Sheriff’s Office reached out on social media asking for assistance locating a suspect they say was involved in a violent incident on Wednesday. The suspect is identified as Jordan Biddell Jr. He entered a convenience store, attempted to buy alcohol, and then produced a black revolver-style BB gun, pointed it at the store clerk, and demanded money.

    CROOKSTON, MINN – A man charged with attempted murder and assault while jailed in Crookston made a court appearance this week. According to court documents, Henry Vold, of Mentor, Minnesota, was convicted of felony assault in 2014 and two counts of assault in 2018, and is accused of assaulting one correctional employee and strangling a corrections officer in 2023. He is facing charges of attempted murder in the second degree and first-degree assault of a correctional employee.

    TRAIL COUNTY, N.D.-  Local law enforcement agencies, including in North Dakota, are condemning a move by the Trump administration to label some jurisdictions as “sanctuaries” over perceived differences related to immigration arrests. The Department of Homeland Security last week released a list of jurisdictions,  including cities and counties, it says were “deliberately obstructing” enforcement of federal immigration laws.

    GRAFTON, N.D. (KFGO) – Last month, there was a referendum with two measures to help pay for a new Walsh County Jail and Sheriff’s Office. County voters approved a sales tax while the measure for an increase in the county’s general fund levy failed and caused questions about what to do next. County commissioners meeting this week agreed they can work to come up with some options for a new jail.
