GRAND FORKS, ND (KNOX) – A Grand Forks man who was under investigation for narcotics by the Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force was pulled over with seven different forms of drugs, two firearms, and a large amount of cash. The Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force and the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office pulled over 43-year-old Stephen Lang on Interstate-29 near Thompson.

WILLMAR, MINN (KWLM) – The suspect in the murder of a Willmar teen may have accidentally shot the youth as they were shooting at two other people in a parked car. 17-year-old Jamil Mohamed Abdille of Willmar is charged with 3 felony counts of 2nd Degree Murder and one count of 3rd Degree Murder in the death of a 17-year-old boy the night of May 12th in southeast Willmar.
Big lottery winners in Minnesota

ROSEVILLE, MINN. – Last week was another great time for lottery players in Minnesota. The lottery says that there were over 416,900 winners across the state. Officials say that over $7.2 million was scratched off during the week. Players in Moorhead and Eagan each won $50,000 on a “Diamond Riches” and a “20x” scratch card. Stores in Alexandria and Rochester also had $50,000 winners. In Aiken, there was a $200,000 winner. That wasn’t the biggest single take on scratch-off tickets last week.
Grand Forks County Commission approves tax exemption for Grand Forks plane manufacturer

GRAND FORKS (KNOX) -The Grand Forks County Commission approved a tax exemption for Cirrus Aircraft expansion on a 4-1 vote. The property tax exemption will be a 10-year, 100% payment instead of taxes, and a pilot, that the City of Grand Forks is spearheading. Cirrus will pay $213,000 to $214,000 in the pilot for those 10 years.
Willmar, Minn. man suffers burns in house fire

WILLMAR, MINN. (KWLM) – One person suffered burns in a house fire in Willmar early Wednesday morning. The Willmar Fire Department says just before 1 a.m., they were called to the house just south of the Kandiyohi County Fairgrounds. Flames were coming out of several windows. Firefighters learned the man was already at the Willmar hospital with burn injuries. His name has not been released. No firefighters were injured.
Man sentenced for sexually coercing a minor in Otter Tail County

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, MINN. (KBRF) – A man has been sentenced for sexually coercing a minor in Otter Tail County. Prosecutors say 22-year-old Jose Ramires of Freeport was temporarily living with a family in Otter Tail County when he coerced the 13-year-old daughter into acts of a sexual nature in May of 2024. The victim told county deputies there were at least two occurrences of physically inappropriate behavior, and said that Ramires told her not to tell her parents.
Anoka to break ground on Municipal Cannabis Dispensary Thursday

ANOKA, MINN. – The City of Anoka is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony this Thursday for its municipal cannabis dispensary. It will be located on East River Road next to the city-owned liquor store. The city unveiled a logo that says, “Anoka Cannabis Company established in 2025.”Anoka is one of several Minnesota cities that applied for a municipal cannabis license.
Juvenile arrested in murder of Willmar teen

WILLMAR, MINN. – A juvenile is under arrest in the shooting death of a teen in Willmar last week. Willmar Police say that at around 2 p.m. Saturday, they arrested the juvenile male in connection with the shooting last Monday of a teenage boy at a home. The suspect is being held at the Prairie Lakes Youth Programs secure facility in Willmar and faces a charge of 2nd Degree Murder and two charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. Police say the case remains under investigation and is ongoing.
NWS reports 4 tornadoes in Minnesota during severe storms

CHANHASSEN, MINN. – The National Weather Service is checking into at least four reported tornado touchdowns in Minnesota. Meteorologist Jake Beitlich says a strong, low-pressure system brought gusty winds and severe storms to parts of the state on Thursday. Tornadoes were reported far northwest of East Grand Forks and Crookston, west central Minnesota near Benson, a “skinny-rope” tornado near Montevideo, and another near Spring Hill. Beitlich says there was damage in the Benson area.
Grand Forks man arrested after high risk traffic stop

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – A Warroad, Minnesota man was arrested after failing to stop and then leading police on a chase in Grand Forks Thursday around 8:30 p.m. An officer observed a pickup violating traffic laws and attempted to stop the truck. The driver wouldn’t pull over. As the vehicle approached the intersection of Demers Avenue and S. 20th Street, officers were able to use their patrol vehicles to block it in.
