It’s an open secret that Pitlochry is one of Scotland’s most popular destinations, but when the tourist information centre closed last year, visitors found themselves somewhat lost. Parents and teachers at schools across Dundee and Angus have been left to pick up the pieces in the wake of the collapse of coach company Fishers Tours. Angus Council said it was “confident” it could find transport for Monifieth High School pupils due to sit an exam on Monday. But as of Tuesday evening arrangements had not been “secured”. Monday is an in-service day, but there are scheduled SQA practical exams in National 5 and Higher Art and Design at 9am.

Staff at Fishers Tours given five days’ notice they were being let go have demanded answers over the Dundee bus company’s collapse. It is claimed director Carrie Ann Telfer and other senior figures have kept employees in the dark over who is handling the firm’s liquidation process. Mechanics, drivers and office workers were left “stunned” on the yard of their Mid Craigie headquarters on Monday morning as they were told the firm had collapsed and would cease trading on Friday.

John has always been willing to answer every question I’ve ever put to him and just *got* the role of the press in public life. One of the few to ever put his head above the parapet. He’s also always been a genuinely nice person, which in politics is pretty rare.
