By Paul Walsh A man was struck by gunfire and killed early Tuesday while driving in south Minneapolis with a passenger, officials said. The shooting occurred about 2:20 a.m. in the 2700 block of Pillsbury Avenue S., police said. Officers responding to the scene in the Whittier neighborhood found the man, described as being in his late teens, on the ground next to a vehicle, police said. Police said he died at the scene. No arrests have been announced.

A massage therapist with a troubling criminal history sexually assaulted a client in Minneapolis last summer, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday. Gregory Quinn Holmes, 61, of St. Paul, was charged in Hennepin County District Court with third-degree criminal sexual assault in connection with what the woman told police had occurred on Aug. 30, 2024, at her chiropractor’s office.

A 17-year-old boy joined in with a 14-year-old and stabbed a young man on a St. Paul street nearly two dozen times, with most of the wounds inflicted to the victim's back, according to prosecutors. Jeremy Joe Davila, of St. Paul, was charged Monday in Ramsey County District Court with aiding and abetting second-degree intentional murder in connection with the March 31 attack of Jay'Mier Keymari Givens, 19, in the 1400 block of E. 6th Street in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood.

By Paul Walsh A Minneapolis man has been sent to prison for being drunk and driving without a license when he sped into an intersection, killed a University of Minnesota student in a crosswalk near campus and drove off. Ali Abas Samator, 31, was sentenced in Hennepin County District Court last week to a 7¾-year term after pleading guilty to criminal vehicular homicide in connection with the crash on Nov. 7 that killed 18-year-old Rylie Saloum of Albertville, Minn.

By Paul Walsh A 34-year-old man was drunk and drivng without a license when he caused a head-on crash in Minneapolis last summer that killed the other driver. German Adriano Llangari Inga, of Minneapolis, was charged Friday in Hennepin County District Court with criminal vehicular homicide and criminal vehicular operation in connection with the second crash he was involved in moments apart on Aug. 3, 2024. Killed in the second collision was Victoria Eileen Harwell, 31, of Minneapolis.
