    A man branded "a danger to girls" has been jailed after admitting sexual activity with a girl in Weelsby Woods when she was just 12 years old. Bradley Lamond, 24, of Grimsby admitted six offences. Prosecuting at Grimsby Crown Court, David Godfrey said it was concern from a relative of the girl who spoke to a youth worker, that led to an investigation by Humberside Police. When interviewed, Lamond said a friend had told him that the girl was 16 years old, when in fact she was just 12.

    The Armed Forces Team for North East Lincolnshire have encouraged people to take part in events to remember the sacrifices made during The Second World War. Towns and villages throughout northern Lincolnshire are due to host ceremonies and events. Flags to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe on May 8, 1945 will be unfurled in Cleethorpes. New pole fixings have been installed to make the flags more secure ahead of a series of events to honour our Armed Forces.

The possessive behaviour came after he punched her in bed, breaking her nose, causing eye damage and requiring her to have a metal implant in her cheek. The violence flared after a row the previous evening when he stayed overnight at her home in Scunthorpe. They had met three months earlier in August, last year.
