GTA hit man Charles Gagne had his parole revoked Thursday afternoon with authorities citing “protection of the public.”Gagne was sentenced to life in prison in 2003 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder for the contract killings of high-profile GTA professional boxer Eddie Melo and his friend Jaoa (Johnny) Pavao in 2001. He became eligible for parole 12 years into his sentence. He murdered Melo and Pavao while on parole for armed robbery.

Devon Brumble was more or less where he was supposed to be. In the end, that didn’t save him. The 31-year-old who was fatally shot at a North York parking garage last Thursday had been under house arrest. He was awaiting a court appearance on drug charges in Fort Frances — a Northern Ontario town on the border of Minnesota, some 1,700 kilometres away. A court had ordered that he stay at the home of one of his sureties — a condo building on Bogert Avenue that has a parking garage.
