The Phoenix Mercury open the WNBA regular season Tuesday in Las Vegas against the two-time defending champion Aces. This season marks 20 years in Phoenix for the league's all-time leading scorer Diana Taurasi. She says she's grateful to have spent her entire WNBA career here. "When I got here in 2004, I'd never been to Phoenix before. I didn't really know much about the city, the people, the basketball culture here.

Their newest addition is free agent starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery, reportedly signed to a one year, $25 million contract.

A new documentary screening at ASU this week tells the story of the thousands of children abducted from Ukraine to Russia since the war began. The Kyiv Independent produced the documentary called "Uprooted." It features Ivan Matkovskyi, a forcibly transferred minor who managed to escape Russian authorities. He's come to Phoenix to promote the screening. Through a translator, Matkovskyi says he's also here to raise awareness.
